The Birmingham UFO Group (BUFOG) was started by Craig Lowe and Mark Martin.
Craig and Mark met through their partners who went to school together and often arranged nights out together as a group. After many nights out and a few bottles of wine Craig and Mark ended up in a deep conversation about UFOs, at the time neither of them had any idea that they both had a keen interest in the subject since their childhoods. Both Craig and Mark have had numerous UFO experiences themselves and have recorded evidence of particular sightings which you will find on this site. In July 2009 Dave Hodrien was selected due to his determination, hard work and commitment for the position of "Birmingham UFO Group Chairman Of Activities And Investigations"

Over the years they had both educated themselves on the subject with a vast amount of knowledge and had accumulated an extensive library of books relating to ufology.
Once they realised they had this interest in common they spent many nights in discussing particular cases. Over the following months they furthered their knowledge by researching the Internet and certain UK reports. Craig and Mark were both aware of the group UFO Research Midlands (UFORM) who were a Stourbridge based group, UFORM held monthly meetings and lectures and both had intended for many years to attend these lectures. After yet another night discussing the subject they both agreed they would start attending the lectures regularly.
Craig and Mark were both impressed with the experience at the UFORM lectures and had decided to approach UFORM’s chairman Steve Poole to offer any assistance they could to the group. At the next meeting Steve Poole announced that UFORM wanted to focus it’s time and resources on the investigation side of the groups activities, and that the decision was not made easily to end the monthly lectures. Craig and Mark were very disappointed, not at UFORM’s decision but at the fact that they had missed out on all the previous years lectures and wished they had decided to attend earlier. They both discussed the subject further and decided to start BUFOG. With this idea they approached Steve Poole and put forward the idea that BUFOG would take on the responsibility of the monthly lectures and meetings, allowing UFORM to continue its path into the investigation of reported sightings.
After many discussions they all agreed on this new venture for BUFOG.
The current UFORM members were keen to migrate over to BUFOG as they enjoyed the meetings and lectures, and wished to continue attending. Without the help, advice and assistance of Steve Poole, BUFOG would not be in the position it is in now. And that position is, that the groups web site is now up and running, contacts of speakers and members of other groups are now in place.
Dave Hodrien joined Bufog in August 2008 as an Investigator. Dave has written many articles for Bufog which have been published in the magazine, and also was the leading investigator in the Kingswinford case. Dave has had over 10 years experience in researching the UFO phenomenon and attended most of the leading conferences. Dave's experience, knowledge and enthusiasm is paramount to the groups progression.

- We intend to bring the truth and the Lecturer's to the public.Together we can bring all the evidence to all that are listening.
- To gather all unidentified flying object reports from with in the Birmingham and surrounding areas and to disseminate the information to the UFO network.
- Any report of contact, abduction or sighting will be dealt with in the strictest confidence and your personal details will be removed from the web site if you wish not to be identified.
- All reports will be detailed on this web site with any supporting images or video footage.
- We will contact the local Police authorities, Air traffic control and Ministry Of Defence to check if any report has been made by other members of the general public and authoritive personnel.
- If you do not want to be contacted by any other agency then we will be more than happy to liaise on your behalf.
- We aim to facilitate for the lecturing community within the midlands and aim to host such events.
- We will aim to arrange with authors and publishers, exclusive book signing's and special appearances.
- We will list a back catalogue of historic UFO cases from around he world.
And above all else, we are here to help and advise those with experiences who find them hard to deal with and even understand. This subject can attract disinformation from the press and media, and even ridicule fom the general public, but we will treat everyone and every case with discretion and the sincerity they deseve.
